2014 NYHUSL Action Plan

Dear Fellow Alumni,

It is a great honor to serve as the 2014-16 president of the Howard University School of Law Alumni Club of New York.  The organization has made great strides in its six years of existence through the extraordinary efforts of our past boards and members, and I look forward to even greater success together in the coming years.

For the 2014 fiscal year, we will focus on the following areas of initiative as set forth in the attached Action Plan:  Membership, Law School Outreach, Alumni Activities, Career Support and Community Service.  As always, we welcome and appreciate your active participation.

As a reminder, membership is open to:

  • all Howard University School of Law graduates (and their spouses);
  • recipients of honorary juris doctorate degrees from Howard University (and their spouses);
  • former students of the Howard University School of Law who completed at least one year of studies at Howard University School of Law and withdrew in good standing; and
  • faculty and staff of Howard University or Howard University School of Law who do not fit into one of the above categories.

Please visit our site, http://www.nyhusl.org, where you can access more information about the organization (including our bylaws), sign up for membership and view our calendar to stay up to date on upcoming events – including our Fall Kickoff.  You should feel free to contact the organization at info@nyhusl.org and me directly at president@nyhusl.org.

Through our collective efforts, I am confident that we can build one of the most vibrant alumni networks in the area.  If you are not already a member, please visit http://www.nyhusl.org/membershipform/ and join today!

Sincerely,

Yaa Aba Acquaah
